Professor Thierry Deltombe is the head of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department at the CHU UCL Namur site Godinne of the well-known Université de Louvain (UCLouvain) in Belgium. He is the Past-President of the Belgian PM&R scientific society and a member of the executive committee of the European Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine. He co-chair with Gerard Francisco the ToxNet group dedicated to education and research in spasticity
For 25 years, he is the head of an interdisciplinary group devoted to the spasticity treatment. The group includes a neurosurgeon (Prof. T. Gustin), three orthopaedic surgeons (Dr F. Bom, Dr D. Hadj-Sadok and Dr D. Wautier), an anaesthesiologist (Dr. M. Fostier), a neurologist (Dr M. Ossemann) and a rehab team. He published several papers dealing with spasticity assessment (diagnostic nerve block) and treatments (botulinum toxin and neurotomy).
